Starting Up Marketing - Part 2 - Digital Marketing

Once the brand for a company is sorted, the digital marketing aspect should be considered.

First off, a website for any company is a portal to marketing to the world. It is what can take a business from being a word-of-mouth company to servicing a larger area.

Websites can be set-up via companies who specialize in creating and programming certain aspects of the pages - but in recent years - this has become a simpler process thanks to certain tools.

Once you have your website, the next thing to look at is how people can find your website online and other things that go into the 'backend' of your website to help it run fully for your business.

I had spoken previously about when creating a brand that SEO helps. SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation - meaning how your website and company appear on search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, and others.

Whilst sorting out SEO can be quite an intrinsic task with specialist companies out there who focus solely on boosting it, in short - it can be one of the most important factors of a company's online presence.

Factors that can boost SEO include keywords, listings, website reliability, and how modern it is amongst other finer details including alt tags, website functionality, site mapping, and more.

Another important tool, or set of tools, is Google business tools. Whilst there are alternatives out there, they are most commonly used as very reliable for use with measuring metrics for websites and more.

Google Analytics can be installed on websites relatively straight forward on websites, and by going to Google Analytics data pages - factors that can measure a plethora of features from visitor behaviour to website performance.

For any company that has a physical presence like a shop, head office, or key place they do business - then Google My Business is absolutely vital. It is the easiest and most simple way of getting a company listed on Google and can act as can often be the first and most accessible way for people to find your business online.

It also provides a listing on Google Maps, a place to introduce people to your business and show off reviews too. With it being such an important tool, no business should be open without one.

Now that some of the digital marketing has been looked at, the next things to consider are a marketing plan going forward to amplify your brand.

Something to look at next time.
